2.0b10: Lion Friendly

TVShows 2.0b10

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The previous betas had a really weird bug in the update system that makes the upgrade very hard. To install this tenth beta:

Sorry for the inconveniences, that is the problem with having a bug in the update system. This tenth beta doesn’t have this problem.

This beta is special in that there are no new features, but it should be a very welcome update for those of you that already have installed Lion. Given that almost half of our 20000 users accounted by our update system did the jump, it was overdue. If any of you were waiting for this release, now you can safely update (a backup would not hurt).

Two consecutive vacations pushed my schedule two weeks more than I expected; on top of that the new Xcode is fighting like always. I apologize for that, though the important thing now is that TVShows is ready for the new season that starts this September.

There were no severe bugs, so the app should have downloaded episodes normally in Lion, although the addition of new shows may have been disabled for some users. Some aesthetic changes were needed, like the new toolbars. Also, the prefpane used too much the CPU for no good reason. And there was a silly bug with Miso. All of that should be fixed in this tenth beta, but if you encounter a new bug please notify us.

Another little change includes a broader support for custom feeds, for example now it is possible to add BitSnoop feeds. This change is not really specific to BitSnoop, so other feeds could incidentally work.

As always, localizations were updated, thanks to our awesome translation team. Special congratulations to Taz for translating the application to Hebrew, making our 30th localization.

I hope you find TVShows as useful as we do, and that these changes result in a better experience. Remember that you can contribute to the project in several ways. Finally, after a little more testing, we are ready to release the final 2.0 version. Until then, download this beta to help us getting there.
